Upswing Poker Bankroll Challenge
- At the end of the 57th session of the Bankroll Challenge, Doug Polk was still $6,882 away from his goal of $10,000.(He started with $100.) The challenge has taken place on and off over the past 2 years, and many people expected the finish line to be months away, if Doug ever completed the challenge at all.
- Welcome to the Upswing Poker YouTube channel! The topics covered will be poker strategy, common mistakes, poker tips, how to play poker hands, bankroll management, poker mental game tips, etc.
Current version has all the upswing snapshove charts pre-loaded (no internet connection required) to make plus EV shove and calls based on Nash equilibrium. Train Snap Shove, Pokerbase, bankroll. A week later my bankroll has doubled and I sit at 200, my question is, is this normal growth for the stakes I play at or am I just experiencing a large upswing. I play about 3 to 4 hours a day as well and usually don't dip too much, and if I do I grind out the double or nothing's to break back even which I average in 85% win rate on.

Upswing Poker Bankroll Challenge Rules
When I first started playing poker 2 years ago and fell in love with the game, I wanted to learn more so I could improve and thats when I came across the likes of Jonathon Little, Doug Polk, Andrew Neeme, Brad Owen, all great players who were putting out content regularly to help n00bs like myself. What caught me was the Upswing Playlist from Doug Polk who was periodically working on a bankroll challenge, which was to build from $10 to $10,000. It took him 58 days to get there but he achieved it – the swings were unbelievable but he completed it… maybe I’ll give it a go.
Lessons from Doug Polk’s $10,000 Poker Bankroll Challenge In August of 2016, Doug Polk launched a poker bankroll challenge, with the goal of turning $100 into $10,000. Doug grinded this challenge often during the first few months, but progress has slowed to a crawl since then.

$25 to £1,000
Going for a less ambitious, but certainly just as daunting goal of $25 to $1,000 will be the main aim of this challenge. I’m going to use a staging guide from a poker resource site to plan out the sessions, the progressive goals along the way and the points at which we should be moving up in stakes.
Day #02 – Peaking Early
Session Start: $45.16
Session End: $49.29
Second day of the Bankroll Challenge was a case of peaking early and then unfortunately running into the bad end of RNG as the rest of the stream went on. Despite winning a number of Spins at the start and boosting the roll to over $54, the rest of the stream was small wins but mainly back to back losses. This was mainly down to the Microstakes running them of mega aggressive opponents against our marginal hands and one opponent hitting a miracle river to stack us. I ended the stream and played cash for a short while and managed to get the balance back to $49.29.

Day #01 – The Challenge Begins
Session Start: $25
Session End: $45.16
First day of the Bankroll Challenge was a real eye opener. With the aim of ending the session when the target of $30 balance was hit, nothing seemed to be working. Somne 0.02/0.05c cash games and a few Spin n Gos but was unlucky all around, but after bringing it back to $20 I accidentally bought into an unfamiliar game type and lost $3. Feeling tilted, I bought into a $15 Spin preparing to completely restart if I lost. It multipled to $45 so it was very important. Hero called with middle pair to beat the villains bluff which induced a tirade of abuse but went onto win a flip to win.
